Just broke a tooth. I'm going to have to go to the dentist. |
|
I hate the dentist (well, not personally).

1. Hope your dentis visit went well... |
|
I'm just taking a few minutes to give attention to those who haven't gotten it because I know how it feels to be passed by.

2. I finally got my crown put on Thursday. |

My dentist is a personal friend and a great, great guy, but my previous one was like something out of Little Shop of Horrors, so I've got some issues.
Are you going to need a root canal? I had one about 1 1/2 years ago and was amazed at how little it hurt.

3. I had a Little Shop of Horrors type dentist years ago. |

Many of us in this town are still traumatized by some of the things he did. He had a reputation for really messing up a lot of teeth, especially for kids. Some of the things he did were fill loads of teeth that didn't have cavities, up to 6 in one sitting, and he would give shots through your face, instead of inside your mouth. He would poke the needle right through your lip too sometimes. I'm talking all the way through, not just a little nip. He was atrocious.
The dentist I go to now knows I'm a total wimp. He comes in with this cherry flavored Q Tip thingy, then lets me hold that in my mouth a while. After that, he rubs some other kind of gel on my gums, then shakes my mouth while he gives me the shot to numb it. I rarely feel anything at all when he's working on my teeth.
Now, if I could only get the hygienist to be more gentle for cleanings.

4. Gold crown or ceramic? |
|
I read that gold is more durable, not to mention having a "pimped-out" chopper. I got one of each, and gold just has that "cool factor"

6. Gold underneath, porcelain top. It feels amazingly like the tooth that used to be there. |

5. Ohhh....I hope you can get it taken care of quickly. |

I'm with ya, I'm not fond of dentists at all. Well, except for oral surgeon who recently removed a tooth for me. He was wonderful!
