WTF is up with low-riding rice burners with loud exhaust systems? |
|
1) They are fucking ugly to begin with 2) They can't even go over a speed bump 3) You can't make crap fast by making it sound fast 4) The 45 lb subwoofer in the trunk is taking out every metric bolt in the go-cart 5) There's always a dumbfuck behind the wheel

there are acutally a lot less of them on the road than there used to be...the rice crowd grew up and graduated to Benzes, Bimmers, and if they were lucky, Porsches....

2. I'm in S. Central PA - it is still mostly rice burners. |
|
The Beemers aren't as loud and they can't get the smelly-ass Mercedes things low enough to the ground. Porches are mostly stock around here.

There are many, many old, racist terms. Most of the time, we see them for what they are and the ignorance they are founded on. Other times, not so much...

" Ya wanna burn rubba, ya gotta burn rice." On Mel Kenyon's midget, fitted with a SESCO V-8 - 2 Suzuki motorcycle top ends (GSXR 1100, IIRC) married on a SESCO crankcase and a common crankshaft. Worked so good it was outlawed.... And man, what a sound!

When I was a kid in the 50s and 60s, it was Glaspak mufflers or open pipes that the adults all whined about. Young lads need to make noise...it distracts them from not making it all that well with the girls.
If you have a neighbor kid with a rice-burner, go chat with him some nice day when he's out waxing it and looking under the hood. He's the same kid who did the same with an old Ford back in the day.
Boys and cars...the louder the better.
We don't really need to turn into the mean old guy down the street. The cars drive on by and the noise goes away.

in 1958! And I'm a ' 57, so fast small cars have always been a part - but I gotta say: "Dood, your ride sounds like a beer fart!" The little ricers can look cool, when done up right - but the extreme styles look hella-lame with droopy fenders, crappy fiberglass body kits, and shoulda used a brush paint jobs! And there is a lot to lowering cars, and revamping suspensions, and a lot of the droopy-drawers crew don't get it. #3 - If it ai'nt fast, it don't sound fast to me! (Loud, sloppy, and discordant is not how fast sounds) The bad noises in the trunk is just the speaker banging on the trunk floor. Gotta be - you don't hear music, do ya? #5 Yes - and his brudda has a multi-colored "Fo-by" Chevy on 38's, with bumpers that weigh more than the frame.
