I think black cats probably stay in the shade, sweat/pant more than white cats to keep from overheating, because they certainly feel hotter to the touch when in the sun.

5. Get out those old Encyclopedia Britannicas
and let the search begin! I think cats have a way of soaking up the heat and tolerating it. Only seems like a law of nature that black absorbs heat and that the black cat would be capable of absorbing more light rays? But would they be more hot indoors? Hmmmmm? BTW, my cat is black and beautiful.
