Do you spell out certain words or say them in Pig Latin in the presence of your pets? |
|
Or am I the only one who does this?

2. We can't say "sheep," we have to say "ovine" |
|
Mick loves sheepherding lessons, and gets REALLY excited if you say "sheep." He can't even hear sheep on TV. We literally can't watch "Babe" if he's inside.

|
and he's close to cracking the code for C-O-O-K-I-E.

10. Nope. You are not the only one. |
|
Sunday Girl was raised on a bottle from just a few days old. She's 16 years old now. She knows every word we say. She's brilliant. Sometimes, spelling the words doesn't even fool her. I've learned to negotiate with her when medicine time comes. On other things, we have to spell it. Ham is one word you cannot say around her unless you are ready to give her some right away. She will drive you nuts if she hears the word, "ham."

I open the fridge and they know cheese is coming out. Now I have to mispell cheese as CHEEZ so they don't catch on. They wait by my feet until I give them a slice. Smart little guys

I can't even say leash without one running to step on my feet. They act like they never get walked. And they get walked every day! Still, each morning one cries and the other runs in cirlces when they see us putting our shoes on.

21. We have to change words on a regular basis |
|
Our cats get their treats at 6:00pm, or as close to it as we can manage. The cats know the word "treats", so if we ask each other if the cats have had their treats (to avoid over-treating them), we've had to change the word "treats" several times to "snacks", "yums", and now we're calling them "sixes" because they have them at six. They'll learn that one soon enough

We had to spell out D-I-N-N-E-R or S-E-V-E-N, because if we said the words, she'd run to the kitchen and start meowing. :D

All of the following MUST be spelled-out, or else we get a fuzzy tornado.
"Dog out" (any variation thereof, like "Can you let the dog out?" or "Should we take the dog out?")
"Bone"
"Brush" (he's a Golden Retriever, so he loves his brush like people love orgasms)
"Ball"
"Bath" (he LOOOOOOVES the bath, and if we say this word out loud, he's jumping into the tub and barking until we turn the water on)
"Quack" (his favorite toy is a stuffed duck with an internal "Quacker")
