1. I build a little cage to put around mine |
|
because there were quite a few. There were fights and my own cats went bonkers over both the other cats invading their space and the fresh catnip leaves I brought inside for them. They love it so much!

Catnip tea just before bedtime will help you sleep.

3. My cats like it are weird and only like it dry. |
|
Unless you rub the leaves. I usually put it out in piles and they are in heaven. But boy they become so agressive and territorial around the catnip piles and I usually have to be the referee.

5. We've had cats that roll in the plants and others who wouldn't go near |
|
a live plant but will kill for the dried stuff. Plus two that didn't care for it at all. All in all I can never understand how a cat will act on anything. They are just screwy critters. But cute.

6. Mine didn't care for it til she got older. |
|
I read a post by someone else here with a cat like that, and after reading that, I went out and bought a catnip stuffed mouse to see if my 16 year old cat had had a change of heart since her youth.
She flung the thing around so vigorously that the mouse had a broken neck with stuffing coming out of it after about a day and a half, and every night it gets tossed around to a new spot when we wake up.

One of my cats first gets it all over her body and then she curls up in a ball holding her tail and licking it lovingly. It is so hilarious.

7. I've never had much luck growing catnip in my garden. |
|
The stoner cats in the neighborhood chew it right down to the ground. So now I grow it in a hanging pot on the porch.

11. I had a cat who could care less about catnip |
|
but if you gave him a small, red, fuzzy ball to play with, he went nuts. And he only went nuts with RED ones. Blue, yellow, green, he could care less. The effect the red ball had on him was a little scary!
