Lost Seasons I-IV, Babylon 5 Seasons I-V, Rome Seasons I-II |
|
DVD Collections of Lost Seasons I-IV, Babylon 5 Seasons I-V, Rome Seasons I-II, A&E's Horatio Hornblower miniseries, A&E's Scarlet Pimpernel miniseries, Masterpiece Theater's The Cazalets, Masterpiece Theater's To Serve Them All My Days.
God only knows how much all this cost-- well, God and my Aunt, as she sent ALL of this to me for an early b-day present! I don't think I'll be on DU much for the next year-- or going to work, or sleeping, or eating... :P
(I am in SERIOUS nerd heaven as I type this... the only question being, "which one first...?")

2. Rome was one of the best series ever cancelled. |
|
The next couple of seasons could have been amazing if they would have kept going.

18. Well, it was fairly obvious the second season was the last |
|
when the script had Livia Octavian's first wife; she was his third. His daughter Julia by his second wife was the cause of the tragedy of his later years. His early years as emperor were mostly eliminating the remaining opposition, turning the senate into a rubber stamp and making Rome into an imperial city. Interesting stuff, but hardly the blood and guts uproar of Rome I&II. Any retelling of his life would be a redo of I, Claudius, probably couldn't top that and who'd want to try.
They stopped at exactly the right moment.

3. 2 years ago, I was so happy to get all of B5 for $22.22 each for each season... |
|
Now it's pretty common to find all of B5 for $19.99 each for each season... :grumble:
B5 is a show where redoing the CGI **would** do it justice (it was made with future technologies in mind, unlike Star Trek)... then again, if they spent real money on TOS remastering so it wouldn't look so cartoony (the original effects, while crude, work so much better because the new CGI effects didn't have much depth to their detail...)

5. Still waiting to complete my B5 collection |

I have three of the five seasons. I leave it as an exercise to the reader to guess which ones. :)

I will eventually complete the collection, but the real meat of the story (the Shadow War) is seasons 2-4.

Absolutely. Opened an account this morning at break, and have only to do the profile, upload a few pictures and get stalked by multiple ex-girlfriends.
So... you have just the tan colored capri's? Or do you own the entire color spectrum of them...? :hide:
