So I'm setting up cable/internet/phone for my new place
What is the difference between "Road Runner Standard High Speed Online (up to 10 Mbps)" and "Road Runner Lite High Speed Online (up to 768 Kbps)" and is it worth $15 more a month? Would I need the higher speed for playing MMORPGs? I'm also taking online courses, but I don't need extra speed for that. I hate being sold things that I don't really need. I don't have the money to throw around.

1. No clue. You might want to PM ghostsofgiants.
He used to work for Comcast.

2. Beyond my scope, sexy
You may wander away from The Lounge and ask in the computer help forum. They are excellent at solving dilemmas. :P

3. It depends. If cost is a big issue, you might get by with the lower speeds
although because you play MMORGs you may want the faster speed. For routine web surfing (with little or no down loading) the Lite would be fine. If you down load music or videos or you are a heavy MMORG gamer, you would probably appreciate the higher speed.

7. I'm wondering if I should just get the lite and see.
If it totally sucks while playing, I can always upgrade later.

4. They may be using an accelerator for the higher speed
The accelerator doesn't necessarily work on some apps and may cripple others.

Are you doing anything eg. gaming or Second Life that needs that kind of throughput? If you don't mind waiting for the cache to fill up, streaming video works fine at the slower speed.

5. World Of Warcraft
I haven't been playing in months, but was thinking about getting back into it again.

6. 10 Mbps > 768 Kbps
10e6 / 768e3 = 13.0208333 to be precise.

Glad to be of service. :)
