Actual good deed done by moi. |
|
About a week ago, I drove up to the quik stop at the top of my neighborhood to fill up the MidloVan. (Thanks BoyM for returning it empty....again)
Anyway. I spotted this very elderly woman with a cane and one of those rolling shopping carts trying to cross the main drag.
I got spooked because there was NO WAY she was going to get across those four lanes without getting clobbered, so I rolled down my window and offered to give her a lift.
She accepted and I put the rolling cart in the back of the van, (Almost knocked her flat because it's automatic, yikes) and I gave her a ride across the road to the strip mall on the other side.
She was really sweet and thanked me and told me I was a sweetheart (she doesn't know me, hence the confusion)
My husband's reaction? YOU STRANDED AN ELDERLY WOMAN AT THE COMMONS???????
I hate my life.

They say if you do good stuff it will come back to you. I want to know when it's coming back because I do good stuff and nothing happens. The preacher man says it's because I'm doing good deeds out of selfish desire, but why else would you do good deeds? Yeah, I don't get it. :dunce:

I do good stuff all the time and nada. Zip. Zilch.
Not why I do it though. I do it because it's the right thing to do.
Same reason as you.

You accost an old woman and wrench her shopping cart away from her. Almost knock her flat with your hatchback, then abandon her in a strip mall...
Very good deed.

She's still at The Commons waiting for you to ferry her back across the road. Nice elder abuse, Midlo. :eyes:
