Would you have actually attended a play called Springtime for Hitler?
I was recently watching The Producers and had a really weird thought...would anyone actually attend a performance of a play called Springtime for Hitler?

3. If I thought it would be a parody, sure.
If I thought they were serious, no.

People will attend ANY opening night if it's on broadway, I'm sure. The "see and be seen" crowd.

12. Only if I knew Mel Brooks and Gene Wilder were involved
Then I would have not known it would be funny and not some tribute to Timothy McVeigh or something.

As for "shit like Mamma Mia," my brother-in-law has had a job for the last 8 years as
the man who makes the sound and lighting work on that show on Broadway, and it sure as
hell beats being unemployed these days, so it's a good thing that enough people are out
there wanting to see "shit like Mamma Mia" to make sure he has a job.

13. Of course not. That was the whole point in "The Producers."
"Springtime for Hitler" was intended to bomb.

14. Context - 'The Producers' was only 20 years after WWII
"Springtime for Hitler" in 1966 would be akin to producing a play called "Laugh Riot at Tienamen Square" in 2009.

15. Depends.... would there be on stage nudity?
I don't approve of her politics, but let's face it: Eva Braun was a hottie.
