8. I didn't know any of this stuff. |
|
But the only thing I've ever actually gotten out of AAA was maps, and that was before I went with a GPS system. My car insurance does towage and my car manufacturer does roadside assist. So, actually, my only excuse for continuing to give AAA money was sheer inertia.
So, once less bill to pay in a few months. Yay!
Thanks for the information.

14. How is Better World's service? |
|
I was tempted to sign up, especially when since they offer roadside assistance for bicycles.
However, when I emailed them and asked for a list of service providers they wouldn't provide me with one.
On the rare occasions when I need roadside assistance I'm usually out in the middle of nowhere so I'd be very reluctant to use a company unless I knew they had a large network of people that could come to my aid.

18. Thanks, I'll switch to them when my AAA comes up for renewal. |
|
I really like having the peace of mind knowing that I can call AAA if I have car trouble somewhere. I'm glad to know there is an alternative which provides the same services.

15. After I joined AAA, I had to be towed twice in one month. |
|
That in itself paid off, as it would have cost me some bucks. And I have had two flat tires and called AAA. That was another savings. Once before I had AAA, I had to call a tow company to come change a tire. It cost me $40. So, for me, my AAA membership is well worth it.

I'm getting too old to be changing tires 4 inches away from speeding idiots.

17. Nay. Useless in a big city. Lobbyists to pave the entire US. |
|
I had so many bad experiences with them in the Washington, DC area.
I live right near the border of DC and MD and locked my keys in my car. Silver Spring if full of locksmiths. AAA made me wait for one to drive down from Germantown. INSANE.
One of their towtrucks would not follow me when I was driving with a really dead battery after giving me a jump. It stalled out in an intersection right after they turned away and I was left to wait over an hour for another truck.
Fuck 'em.

19. Pay Sucks, accident tows pay much better |
|
I have known a few people who worked on a wrecker for a AAA garage. The payment for an assist at the time, early 80's, was $5 a call.
