I have a 2006 mac book pro. I wanted to post picture of our new family turtle and don't have the slightest idea of how to upload pictures.

You will need to use a photo hosting site; the most commonly used one is PhotoBucket.
They have free accounts.
Just sign up, and follow the prompts to upload your pictures into it.
Once your pics are there, just slide your mouse over the pic; four links will appear under the pic. Use the second one down (click on it) and then click on your thread.
The link to the pic will appear here. I always preview my pic threads to make sure I've done what I wanted to...
