2. In this poll, it's gotta be Elvis all the way. I grew up listening to |
|
Elvis. I gotta admit that there was a lot of his later music that I didn't care for, but the man could sing like nobody's business.
Even my son, who's 11 likes Elvis. One of my favorite songs of all time, Heartbreak Hotel.

5. It's all my fault, then |
|
When I was eleven, I was buying the novelty hits. I probably still have my 45's of "Witch Doctor," "Purple People Eater," and "Volare" kicking around in the basement somewhere. (Not to mention "The Little Blue Man" and "The Chipmunk Song.") But I wasn't buying Elvis or Chuck Berry.
So blame me -- it was all my doing.

6. I think we all made questionable record-buying decisions at age 11. |
|
If memory serves, I bought Paul Nicholas' "Heaven on the 7th Floor" at that age! :eyes:

Great pop song. Would've made a great Warner Bros. cartoon.

8. No. Elvis just had a really fat ring finger! |
|
Seriously, back in the late '50s, it was standard practice for a teen-aged girl to wear her boyfriend's class ring on a chain around her neck. It meant they were "going steady."

"16 Candles" is beating "Sweet Little Sixteen"? Incredible.
