Okay, enlighten me... a CroMagnon
why is it gross to pee in the bathtub?

Is it connected to a different sewer?

Is the 8oz of water I need to wash it down and away too little consumption?

1. As long as you rinse it down
I don't care.

Just don't pee off the front porch where the neighbors can see, and we're cool.

7. I'm puzzled as to why you can't pee BEFORE you take a bath,
or, alternatively, why you stay so long in the bathtub that your bladder fills up.

8. No, I mean... just letting fly in the tub
as it sits... see we have a bathroom without a toilet at the moment

15. As long as you rinsed it down the drain afterward, it seems OK
However, undiluted urine sitting in the tub would start to smell, and probably stain the tub. Less efficient water-wise than a toilet, however. Is it possible to just go outside?

13. It is an intuitive understanding of germ theory
In the book 'how the mind works' Steven Pinker claims that we have evolved an intuitive understanding of germ theory, and as a result touching anything that has touched 'unclean' products is disgusting. Put a cockroach in a glass of lemonade, stir it with a spoon then use the same spoon to stir a clean glass of lemonade and people won't drink it. Ask people to eat ice cream served in a brand new bedpan or soup in a never before used toilet and they won't. Supposedly we kindof intuitively understand that anything that touches unclean products (human waste, vomit, etc) is itself contaminated, again as an intuitive understanding of germ theory. So people won't eat ice cream served in brand new bedpans, or popcorn served in new vomit bags, etc.

You are dumping human waste in a place where people sit down. Even though urine is sterile and all, that is basically what is making it nasty. Ta Da.

And that is what toilets are for!
