I'm suffering survivor's guilt |
|
there was a layoff at work, a position in my department was eliminated. This happened while I was out on FLMA. The person who got laid off told me that he figured that the reason it wasn't me was because of the legal trouble the school would have if they eliminated me while I was out sick.
How much wine do you figure I should consume to overcome this?

It sounds like your co-worker is sucking on all the sour grapes. In this climate, be grateful you have a job. The next time it could be you.

3. Have as much wine as you feel like having - there's no need to feel guilty |

The guy is just searching for a way to salve his dignity and self-esteem; the generous thing to do would be to not argue with his claim. However, rest assured that he is totally full of crap - if you'd been the best candidate for a layoff the school would have made it happen...
