...such as the one you posted (great clip), Japanese musicians get to the essence of the song and add an extra layer of creativity, an extra layer of attitude, or both.
In my clip they pretty much played it straight and went for it like a house on fire.
In yours, they turned the song inside out and reinventing it.
Both approaches worked pretty well.

...you're right, the SG gave him just enough of the Fripp sound to make it authentic. If he sat down and played a Les Paul I would have been thinking "Be YOURSELF, man!"
