Best Celebrity Portayal of another Celebrity
I was just watching I'm Not There and was thinking that Cate Blanchett's performance of Bob Dylan was mind blowing, as was her portrayal of Katherine Hepburn. Although now that I think about it I love it that Stan Lee got cast as Hugh Hefner in Iron Man? What are your favorites?

Anna Faris' portrayal of an idiot Hollywood starlet (rumored to be an imitation of Cameron Diaz) in Lost in Translation. Abso-freakin'-lutely hilarious!

(paraphrased scene)

Kelly: Everybody is always, like, "Kelly, you are anorexic." And I'm, like, "No, I'm not." I eat so much junk food--I have a high metabolism.

John: I thought you were anorexic too.

77. Okie dokie, here's my review, having watched both "Capote" and "Infamous."
Philip Seymour Hoffman, while looking nothing like Truman Capote, gave the far superior performance in "Capote." And while Toby Jones in "Infamous" looked almost exactly like Capote and nailed Capote's nasal voice, his performance struck me as much less layered and nuanced that Hoffman's. Too, "Capote" seems to have been much more well written and didn't dwell on Capote's homosexuality in the stereotypical ways that "Infamous" did. For example, it's clear in "Capote" that the main character is gay, but his sexual orientation was portrayed as one part of a very complex character. In "Infamous," Capote is portrayed as a caricature of a gay man, leaving a sour taste in my mouth.

Also, I found Clifton Collins Jr.'s portrayal of Perry Smith in "Capote" far more convincing than Daniel Craig's "Infamous" portrayal of the same man. I realize much is made in the media of Daniel Craig, but I think Clifton Collins Jr. is a unsung jewel and I'd like to see more of his work.

All in all, I enjoyed both films, but I much prefer "Capote."

68. I've posted "Go kick his ass, Steve" TWICE this week. Not once, TWICE.
Hartman had so many classic bits, but his Sinatra nailed it. There was a certain "yeah, so WHAT" chip on the shoulder attitude that Sinatra had toward his own power and influence. He knew who he was and what he was, he just wanted the rest of us to think it didn't matter. Hartman saw that, took it, and ran with it.
