I just got mistaken for "the maid" in my own house. |
|
and no, we don't have a maid! The guys fixing the furnace just assumed I was one!
(Maybe it's time I stepped up the wardrobe.)

1. Why don't you come to my house and be mistaken for my maid |
|
Lord knows I'll never be mistaken for one the way I clean.

2. That's part of what's so funny/pathetic about this. |
|
My house has been trashed since 2006 because I was working and going to night school - and before that it was trashed because I am lazy. I only cleaned because the work people were coming over.
There is no job that I'm less qualified for!

5. Do you think that's what did it? |
|
I didn't even think of that.
Perhaps the feather duster was a bit too much.

8. It certainly sounds nicer |
|
than the reality - which was that my hair was in a bandanna because it was 90 degrees and I was all sweaty.
I am a little embarrassed by my lack of work ethic as a maid, because I spent a fair amount of time sitting on my ass on the couch surfing the internet on a laptop - they must have thought I was seriously lazy and scamming my employers while I was on the clock.

When I lived in the big house people who dropped by always assumed I was a maid, or the gardener or whatever the hell.

12. I had an acre in the city, and did all the gardens. |
|
Virtually everybody else on the street had their own gardeners, landscapers, etc., so I guess it was a natural assumption. I actually did work for one of my neighbors maintaining her flower beds. :)
