and no, we don't have a maid! The guys fixing the furnace just assumed I was one!

(Maybe it's time I stepped up the wardrobe.)

1. Why don't you come to my house and be mistaken for my maid
Lord knows I'll never be mistaken for one the way I clean.

2. That's part of what's so funny/pathetic about this.
My house has been trashed since 2006 because I was working and going to night school - and before that it was trashed because I am lazy. I only cleaned because the work people were coming over.

There is no job that I'm less qualified for!

3. Maybe you should stop wearing that cute little French Maid outfit
when the furnace guys are there.

5. Do you think that's what did it?
I didn't even think of that.

Perhaps the feather duster was a bit too much.

8. It certainly sounds nicer
than the reality - which was that my hair was in a bandanna because it was 90 degrees and I was all sweaty.

I am a little embarrassed by my lack of work ethic as a maid, because I spent a fair amount of time sitting on my ass on the couch surfing the internet on a laptop - they must have thought I was seriously lazy and scamming my employers while I was on the clock.

10. Don't you love that?
When I lived in the big house people who dropped by always assumed I was a maid, or the gardener or whatever the hell.

12. I had an acre in the city, and did all the gardens.
Virtually everybody else on the street had their own gardeners, landscapers, etc., so I guess it was a natural assumption. I actually did work for one of my neighbors maintaining her flower beds. :)
