Friday morning I am going to a funeral.
It will be hot at the graveside, I am hoping for shade trees.

but if you're using an umbrella to create shade, you want a white or a light-colored one. Black will bake you................

3. I think it must be in the 80s in this room, too. |
|
I live on the second floor of a two-storey flat-roofed apartment built in the 50s, so there's probably no insulation. The a/c stays on all day long and barely keeps up. Sometimes it doesn't, like today...

21. What? in the upper 80s |
|
or the upper 70s?
It doesn't cool down in this ancient apartment until the middle of the night. Luckily, it's "all bills paid" so I don't have that humongous electric bill to worry about. The ceiling fans help the rest of the time.
At the moment, it's 83F outside at almost 3am and around 78F inside with the a/c finally off :)

13. Yeah, but that's low to almost no humidity. |
|
So, it's more bearable to most people.
We're talking less than 60 miles inland here from the upper Texas Gulf Coast. Not to mention Galveston Bay to the East and bayous in and around the city ;)
Houston is humid. And I wouldn't have it any other way :D

I was going to try to save on electricity this summer by running the AC less, but I think I'm playing a losing battle!

You can cook your compost all year round :D

Once you're down to shorts and a tank top, you're pretty much SOL.
Besides, I have this magic device called a "thermossta", which keps keep me warm in winter! :-)

31. I share your mantra. To me, cold belongs in the same class as pain and hunger. |
|
I just get miserable when I am cold, but I don't really suffer that much in hot weather until the air temperature exceeds my body temperature. Even then, I can be comfortable if I can be in the shade and there is a good breeze.
