Tippy was pissed off most of the day- just who the hell is this little upstart brat cat that's moved in on my domain??? Lucy didn't care- tiny little microscopic fuzzball that she is, she quickly made herself at home, conquered a few squeaky toys, found her hidden nappy spot (under a recliner chair), and generally got used to things.
Then, just a while ago, the two started playing together. Chasing each other across the room, pouncing, running away from each other, and generally making a mess of the place.
Now it looks as though the first steps toward friendship have been taken, and I can rest a bit easier knowing Tippy's not going to attack Lucy and try to hurt her.
Still no pictures. Now I have TWO streaks to worry about instead of just one.

1. Nice. My cat #1 hates cat #2. You are lucky. |

3. I have that problem too. |
|
I had 3 cats for years, my first ever cats, all about 1-2 years apart in age. I lost the 2 eldest in last year. I got 2 new ones a few months ago. My old girl HATES the new boys.
I feel really sorry for her but her constant growling / screeching and bitching if they so much at look at her is wearing my fucking nerves.

4. I keep my 2 cats separate. 1 is kept in a bedroom when the other is out and about. Switching |
|
them use be tiring. I'm use to it now. Periodically I try to introduce them and cat#1 kicks cat#2's ass. Cat #2 hasn't noticed that she is younger and bigger.

5. It's hard when they don't get along. |

I don't really have the space to keep them separated, and I definitely don't want to put my girl by herself in a room - that would be even more like punishment than it already is for her. It's hard - I've been especially overworked and tired lately, plus I'm on all kinds of new medications that are tweaking me around (just started stuff for hypothyroid, for example) and I have little to no patience for that screeching noise and the bitching she's constantly doing.
At the same time I feel really badly for her - the fact that she SHOULDN'T be having such a fit (and really, it is mostly just a matter of HER being bitchy. They don't really mess with her, although one is starting to stalk her occasionally mainly due to her extreme reaction I think - trying to get a rise) doesn't negate the fact that she IS and she is getting herself worked up into a stress that while unnecessary and stupid is very REAL. She was always a mama's girl - now she won't come to bed with me because the 2 boys are in there, she just hangs out and waits until one of them comes near her so she can start squealing. It's a little tragic.

10. Actually, now that you mention it... |
|
I might think about a little Bennadryl therapy. I wouldn't want to do it long term, but maybe in the short term I could use it while working diligently with her to get her past it. I'll have to look into that - she's in beginning stage CRF so I'll have to do some research about giving it to her first.
Thanks for the suggestion.

but made me laugh.
It is a cute kitten - but if I had my way I wouldn't ever see that douchbag's face again as long as I live.

11. Anybody know the background of this pic? |
|
I could be wrong, but that looks like a very young lion cub to me.
