Solaris Lawn Mower
Edited on Sun Jun-28-09 09:21 AM by AllentownJake
As some on here know, I decided to go green with my lawn mower after a 3 week epic fight with my gas mower.

It cut about 2/3 of my lawn and than the battery died. I'm on about 3/8 of an acre of land with a pool. One section had not been cut very well because we were having problems with the gas mower so I suspect that it might have something to do with it not making the full yard.

I think the key is to buy an extra battery pack at $99. That way you have a battery in waiting at all times.

The really nice thing about this mower though is the only sound you hear is that of the blade. It runs at a pretty low decibel level. It was nice to be able to cut my lawn at 6am on a Sunday morning and not have to worry about annoying my neighbors. It also was lighter and easier to control than my internal combustion engine mower.

Overall, good purchase. It was on sale at Home Depot. I'll probably get the battery packs next pay period.

I'm doing the suburban thing and showing it off to the neighbors.

1. We have a mower like that and it's _supah_.
Actually, it's my mother-in-law's lawnmower but for 10 years, I've been mowing her lawn once a week with an electric mower with a 10-jillion-mile-long cord with which I virtually hung myself every time I cut the grass. I finally convinced her late last summer to get a lightweight, battery-powered mower. She loves it so much that she won't allow me to mow her grass! She charges the battery, smears on some sunscreen and mows her own grass now. :woohoo:
