A little suggestion for this here DU web site...
if a thread is 24 hours old, just turn off the damn recommend link.

Why have the user answer yes/no if you are just going to tell them it can't be recommended?

How hard can that be?

Just saying...

1. While we're suggesting...
...I'm no computer expert and have no idea how difficult this would be, but what would be spectacular is if a user could enter a search term and then have a "hide all threads with this word / these words in the thread title" button at his / her disposal. This week alone I must have hidden 50 Michael Jackson threads (with all due respect to his fans, I'm just not interested).

2. That would be an awesome feature - although I'd be even happier with
a 'hide all copycats' feature... :)

9. Why?
I have yet to see a funny or clever one. All they do is clog up traffic.

6. or at least not take me to a new window
When i'm hiding 10 threads at a time, it would be nice to be able to click over and over without jumping to an "are you sure?" page

8. And one more thing: I don't need to be asked...
...if I'm sure of my choice when casting my vote for a poll.

Honestly, even if I effed it up, it isn't that big a deal!
