Star Gate SG1 - dissin' Shrub*!!!
Tivo'ed it, and just watched. They are playing out the current administration as a new one. The prez is weak and indecisive, the VP thinks he is in control of everything.
The head of SG-1 said "Who voted for these SHRUBS anyway??? "
ROFLMAO!!! There were other subtle disparities.
I love the show and am a sci-fi freak, has anyone else noted the change of tone in the show??

1. Love the show as well
Can't get enough of it actually, its just freaking awesome. Which is a good think I have The SciFi Channel, as its on all week. They've done this thing several times, which makes me happy. MacGuyver is the shows producer now, maybe he's a dem.

SG-1 is the best sci fi on tv now, by far. I can't even figure out my favorite character, as they are all fleshed out really well and portrayed excellently.

3. SG1 rules in the arena of new sci-fi
The show is awesome. I never miss it - but I was really happy not to have missed last Fri's episode.
I've been a Trekkie since I was 8-9, but this show even beats 'Next Generation' in plausible scenarios....and in our time frame.

4. I've heard good things about the show
I'll TIVO it, and check it out!! I watch virtually no 'real time' TV anymore except for the occasional 'Washington Journal' or breaking news.

5. The resemblance to Cheney is uncanny lol
When I was watching it, I mentioned to my hubby "He looks and acts just like Cheney!!""

I wonder how Stargate Atlantis is going to do this summer. I really love SG-1, but mostly because of the characters.

I don't see those how 4 new people will be able to suck me in, the way O'Neal, Carter, Teal'c, & Daniel Jackson has. :)

8. same here
I eagerly await Stargate Atlantis, but I'm gonna try to have a clean slate so to speak. I don't want my enjoyment of SG1 to color my expectations for Atlantis. I didn't do that with DS9, and missed out on a few seasons because of it.

6. Yes, they are.
:bounce: I hope they keep it up. Since it's filmed in Canada, there isn't much the BushCo propaganda office can do about stifling production.

9. William Devane plays President "Henry Hayes"
and he is certainly Bush-like in his portrayal--smarmy and nasty at the same time.

(This is Devane as himself, much more appealing than the character he plays)
