Does anyone watch "The Practice?" (spoilers) |
|
I thought it would suck after Bobby, Lindsay, Helen, Lucy, and Rebecca left, but I have been really impressed with this season. I have been particularly impressed with James Spader's character, and I was pretty upset last night when he and Tara got canned. What are you all thinking?

1. Wouldn't miss it for anything. |
|
It's the only thing on TV that I place on my schedule.
Unlike you, I rejoiced when Bobby and Lindsay were canned.
I was hip to the episode storyline from last night. Don't get upset that Alan and Tara got canned. They're getting their own spin-off.
Spader is the greatest. He's the best thing on TV.

4. I will watch that religiously! |
|
though it will be "lighter in tone". I kinda like the seriousness.

3. I have always liked it |
|
but did not start watching it until several years into it. I think James Spader is amazing. I love the character and he pulls it off so well. I would hate to lose that character so quickly after it emerged.

5. It's so much better now |
|
than it was last season--or the last two seasons.
Here is what I think will happen before the spinoff starts: Spader sues the firm for wrongful termination (with Tara as a co-litigant). Eugene, Jimmy, and Eleanor hire Bobby Donnell to represent them against Spader, who represents himself. Donnell loses the suit....hugely, because Linda Hunt returns as a judge for the episodes (she isn't getting enough work playing Alice B. Toklas, ya know). In fact, they lose so badly that the firm has to be liquidated and Jimmyhas to contemplate a way to buy suits at the big and tall man store without a lawyer's salary. He ends up in the last scene back at the bank he worked in during the first episode and he has the indignity of receiving Spader's deposit of the check from the suit.
*applause*

7. She was in a film called |
|
"Gertrude and Alice" a while ago. But my comment was supposed to be funny, really. I guess it didn't translate to the post very well. :(

don't beat yourself up
I liked your scenario, but I hope it doesn't end that way. I like Eleanor too much.
