2. Not so fast
Things are looking a tad bit trepidatious at the moment...

10. Well, now they're just rubbing it in
When was the last time we hit five homers in a game? :D

11. This is where we miss Vin in these midwest/eastern games
I do recall a wild one against the Padres in 2005 - 2 sets of back-to-back homers - nout sure if there were more than those 4 in the game.

12. And two of those were off Hoffman, too
I still have the box score somewhere... oh, wait!

http://www.retrosheet.org/boxesetc/2006/B09180LAN2006.htm

We hit seven that night. Anderson hit two — one in the second and one in the ninth. Furcal hit one in the third.

That game is second only to Game One of the '88 Series in my heart. :)

15. That was a monster game
I was so hung up on the back-to-backs, I forgot about the other 3. D'oh!

That Retro Sheet is the shit! :D

17. Innit, though?
There's a pretty big gap in years with box scores, but they've got game logs going back to the 1800s.

Oh, hey — who was on teevee? Charlie's off until after the break and Rick did a solo on radio.

18. Eric Collins and Steve Lyons
Don't care much for them - they are of the inane chit-chat and only-we-find-our-jokes-funny school of broadcasting.

20. Collins is new this year
And since we are in agreement about Lyons, odds are good we would be about Collins.

I dread the post-Scully era.

Too soon to tell with the new kid. I've only even heard of him for two games. So is Vin done with road trips now?

22. Vinny hasn't gone outside the NL West for a few seasons
I guess when you're in your 60th year with the ball club you can get concessions like that.

24. With Rick Monday
For home and NL West games, Vinny does a simulcast for the first three innings, then goes teevee-only while Charlie and Rick do radio.

I didn't care much for Monday when he started with 'em. Thought he sounded like the typical jock-turned-announcer. But he's gotten much better, and I'd say he and Steiner are one of the best teams in baseball.
