Why am I watching Walter Cronkite coverage on MSNBC instead of CBS? |
|
Perhaps they forgot their roots.

6. MSNBC is a news-only network and does not have affiliate stations |
|
Their tribute to Walter Cronkite was already in the can, so they took it out and ran it at their convenience, and can do so as many times over the next few hours as they deem necessary.
CBS does not have this luxury. It has affiliate stations that run tightly scheduled local and entertainment programming. I'd also assume that since it was Cronkite's network, its news producers wish to put together a fitting post-mortem, which takes time.
