Overturned tractor-trailer shuts I-95 ramp

An overturned tractor-trailer has closed the exit from southbound I-95 to northbound Del. 141, state police say.

Removal of the wreck is expected to take several hours and motorists should seek alternate routes, said Cpl. Jeff Whitmarsh.

The accident happened about 3 p.m.


Police said Dawit Andemarian, 49, of Columbus, Ohio, was operating a 2002 Freightliner tractor-trailer, hauling bananas, when he exited toward Newport, lost control of the rig and overturned.


He suffered a minor injury but refused medical attention, Whitmarsh said. w
