Would you be able to forgive your child anything at all? |
|
If not, where would the line be?

1. I could forgive anything BUT |
|
if he ever hit his mother.
That would get him a 5 minute to pack one way ride.
Other than that I'm pretty forgiving

2. I don't have a child, so this is purely speculation |
|
But I imagine I would always love my child no matter what he or she did wrong, but there are some things that would make me permanently angry.

3. Not sure where I would draw the line |
|
and it depends on what you mean by forgive. Murder, robbery, assault(not related to self defense)? Probably not, but that doesn't mean I would necessarily abandon them and it would entirely depend on circumstances. Now if one of them were to become a hateful white supremacist or join the KKK (highly doubtful since they are Jewish but weirder things have happened) I couldn't forgive them that. That would violate every moral ethical value that they were raised with and I would expect them to live by.

4. Nope. I'm into conditional love |
|
If you do something heinous, unspeakable and with the full intention to hurt someone - buh-bye. I would have a hard time seeing a child do something that qualifies as that, but for an adult child I could see it happening.

but considering how angry I get when one hits the other, if one were to really intentionally hurt the other? Hard to say.

9. You can love without forgiveness |
|
I like to think that I would still love my boys no matter what they did but I imagine there are things they could do (as adults most likely) that I couldn't forgive.

Killing someone in a case where it wasn't anything close to self-defense, raping someone, selling classified materials to a foreign source or dealing drugs to children - I'd wash my hands entirely.
