Edited on Tue Mar-16-04 06:42 PM by corporatewhore
Ok at SXSW they are showing alot of cool indys and documentaries between my volunteer shifts (why i can afford a badge) there is an oppertunity to see two cool sounding documentaries going on at the same time. One is called Witches in Exile about women in ghana who are accused of witchcraft and face being stoned or going to an internment camp away from their villages. The other is called Double Dare about two women stunt doubles in a profession dominated by men and associated with masculinity. One was Wonderwomans double and is 66 and is still working the other is her protoge who was Xenas double.

1. "Witches In Exile"...
and when you get home, rent Werner Herzog's "My Best Fiend" It's a fascinating documentary about the director's relationship with the brilliant, but insane, Klaus Kinski

3. the witches one sounds like an interesting tale of the human condition
but of all the docs. I've ever seen, maybe the best, wierdest one was Sherman's March by Ross McElwee...it's about a guy who sets out to do a documentary on Sherman's march through the South but it's ends up just being him sort of drifting around getting into these relationships with very, very different women...it's very personal...and kinda wacky...
