This morning, I started my shower while still wearing my glasses.
I wish I could say this is the first time I've done such a thing.

Some time ago, after frantically searching for my keys, I found them in the refrigerator, where I apparently exchanged them for a cold beverage I retrieved. Now, whenever I misplace my keys, the refrigerator is the first place I look.

Anyone else have such brilliant moments? :silly:

1. i've gotten in the shower with my glasses on
and then panicked momentarily because my vision went foggy. i've also torn through the house looking for my keys or phone, only to realize i'd been holding it in my hand the entire time.

2. I've been known to put refrigerator items in the microwave by mistake.
Fortunately, I have yet to cook the coffee cream.

3. Went out to eat last night for our anniversary
and when it came time to pay, couldn't find my debit card. Had a credit card that we don't like to use but could pay for the meal. Freaked out because I didn't want to have to change all my autopays on that card. Couldn't find it. Remember last using it to reserve a movie for the night on redbox (and you need the card to pick up the movie from the machine). So I went to rent the movie elsewhere (still having to pay the $1 from redbox). When I went to get ready for bed, found it in my shirt pocket (someplace I NEVER put it). At least I hadn't canceled it already.

8. I'm like that
The incident that immediately comes to mind is when I accidentally put the dish cleaning liquid -which is what we use to wash the dishes when we want to do them by hand -inside the dishwasher instead of the dishwashing soap that was supposed to be used and then pressed the "on" button before I realized what I'd done

That was fun, although I didn't think it amusing at the time:blush:

9. I now have my keys on a carabiner, because of just this ...
... sort of incident. Instead of putting them down, I clip them to my beltloop or waistband. Should I ever put them down, I would be searching for them all day.

I'd still run around, looking for them, even if they were strapped to my person. :D

32. They do start jingling if you hunt around looking for them...
... which makes them much easier to find than, say, your reading glasses on top of your head.

10. My co worker called me last week to ask if I found his wallet
around his desk. He left work, went to the store and his wallet was not in his back pocket. He called me back 5 minutes later to assure me he did indeed have his wallet...

it was in the OTHER back pocket. A classic, n'est pas?

11. I've trained myself with my keys
I keep my keys on a keychain that clips onto my belt loop and when I take them off, they go in a glass dish on my dresser. So I don't lose my keys.

Other stuff? I can't find anything....

12. More than once
I've also looked for my glasses for several minutes before realizing I had pushed them up on my head (I'm nearsighted, so I read better without them.)

I have to search my house at least 3 times a week for my keys, glasses, or purse. Earlier today, I found the TV remote on the clothes dryer. Channel surfing, heard the buzzer, you know the drill. I've had to call my cell phone from my house phone, too.

17. Locking keys in my car and someone elses car during the same day
It was when I was in the army two years ago. It was in the morning and while I was retrieving some paperwork from my POV I left me keys in the car locked. Anyways I had to wait for someone come and open the car for me. Hours later and my I was somewhere with my squad leader and while we were inside waiting, he told me to go to his vehicle and retrieve the same paperwork. Anyways while getting it I manually locked the doors and I looked in my hands and I realized I locked his keys in his vehicle even though. Let me say he was very upset but I was trying hard not to laugh at myself because something I rarely do, I did twice in the same day. Anyways I payed him the $40 for him to call someone to open his door. I always wondered why he didn't call his insurance like I did with my car where they sent someone at no cost but I didn't question him when he demanded the $40 because it was my fault I did lock his keys in his own vehicle.

30. mm: I once searched frantically for my keys nearly making myself late
for work, only to realise I was holding them in my left hand.

I am 62, and have done some dumb shit, but nothing to top that.

Not yet, anyway....

34. Oh yeah.
I've had many, but the gold medal goes to -- carefully folding a piece of toilet paper and hanging it on the towel rack, then throwing a wash cloth in the toilet.

Left the house more than once without my glasses and started to drive off. Fortunately, I did realize before I got to the street that something was not right. For the record my vision is 400 over 20. Bats are fond of saying, "Blind as sarge43."

37. Done that, though never to that degree
I always figure it out before they get wet. Being a temperature specifist, the water never touches anything but my feet until it is right, so that gives me an advantage there.

My triumvirate have been making their way to their proper spot regularly of late. The keys, the wallet and the cell phone have a place on my desk, and I hate things in my pockets, so I dump them first thing on getting home. The glasses wander, but I have pinned down the locations, and they rarely end up anywhere else. The wedding ring has given me a few heartache moments. Its fine when cool, but as it heats, esp on hot days, it gets damn uncomfortable. It finds its way to different fingers, and fits brilliantly on the Esc key. Did leave it at work once, where it did not fit as well. Once left it at a Red lobster. Left it on the shower hook many a time, and sitting on the window sill above the kitchen sink as well.

38. Yes, the first droplets collecting on the lenses alerted me
But since my glasses are in front of my eyes from morning 'til night, I don't feel too bad about it!

As for keys, my husband found my best-ever keychain hanging in a bush in our back yard. It seems a kitty wriggled out of it! It's a reflective cat easy-release collar with a bell. When I peer into my purse at night it reflects ambient light, and/or jingles, and I can put it on my wrist if I don't put it directly into my purse. I've trained myself to use one conveniently placed chair for my purse, one pocket in the purse for my keys.
Once I caught myself holding my keys while standing on a rolling staircase/ladder thingy and dumping cans into a huge recycling dumpster. What a hassle that would have been if I had dropped them! Since then...into my pocket they go in any situation like that!
