I remember TS Claudette, 1979. Alvin got 45 inches in 24 hours. That was probably on the fourth day, though we lived in Nassau Bay. Before that, three days of steady, nonstop rain, then 24 hours of heavy downpour. If Allison had been like that, the flooding would have been far worse.

sick, multiple witness appearances in court, a very sick girlfriend, multiple fried computers, et al.

The one that fries my ass is spilling tea into a 2 week old laptop. Stupidity is not covered even by the extended warranty. Go figure. $600 repairs to a brand new $1,200 computer. The alternative is flushing that new computer down the toilet.

I was computer-free so long that I have flushed $600 down the aforementioned toilet due to failure to keep up with homework on on-line upgrading I'm taking. I couldn't load the huge volume of specialized software onto someone else's computer.

The one that really worries me is my GF's bad back and the last month of excruciating back pain (and associated symptoms).

When she hurts I hurt, too.
