Brazil nuts - I love those things, but they are really hard to break into. I've killed at least three nut crackers trying to open the damn things. A sledge hammer works pretty well.

5. Try a diagonal wire cutter.

What you do is snip (nibble) off the corners with it, then peel the three sides off. Takes a bit of time, but works a treat.
