Any Big Brother fans here?
Edited on Fri Aug-14-09 12:20 PM by blue_onyx
How are you liking this season so far? Who is your favorite or least favorite contestants?

I think this season is weaker than last year. Several of the contestants are not interesting and would have never made it on the show had it not been for the "clique twist" (Braden, Michele, Kevin, Ronnie). So far, my favorite contestants are probably Chima and Lydia. My least favorite are Braden, Jeff, and Jordan.

1. Your faves are my least faves.
I go to a site that updates all that goes on in the house. Not just what is edited. Chima is a nasty person. She has reason to be, not doubt there. She survived something so horrible. I can't even imagine. But her terrorist comments to Russell went way different than what they showed on tv. WAY different. Russell has major anger issues though. I can see him being easy to go off on. I like Kevin. I kinda like Michelle. Hated Jesse. Lydia is just iffy for me. I love JEff and Jordan. And last night was awesome.

3. I read the online stuff too
I disagree...I don't think Chima meant the "terrorist" comment racially. I don't like Jeff and Jordan because they're bigots. The way they freely throw around gay slurs is disgusting. Of course, Big Brother doesn't air their comments...even going as far as to make Jeff look like a victim. It's odd that the producers protect Jeff, Jordan and Braden and yet air the "terrorist" comment. Big Brother definitely isn't playing favorite :eyes:

4. Well they didn't air the terrorist comment in its real light.
Edited on Fri Aug-14-09 12:43 PM by Shell Beau
She was calling him a terrorist before they even got into it. She said America hates middle easterners and he is a terrorist because of his ethnicity. None of them are just hunky dory. Even Chima said herself that she made up the racist thing about Braden. That is nasty. I hated to hear that Jeff said some nasty comments too. He did vote for Obama which is better than Jordan. She voted McCain. I am just glad Jesse is gone. He was gross.

5. What do you mean Chima made it up about Braden?
Edited on Fri Aug-14-09 12:53 PM by blue_onyx
I've seen his comments. Here's some of his quotes, including video. Skip to about the 2 min. mark for these comments:

“I’m fucking white and American.”

“Yeah, you’re all beaners.”

Edit: Wanted to also say, Jeff voting for Obama isn't a big deal considering Obama has issues regarding gay rights too. Jeff is a bigot and I hope he goes during the double eviction next week.

6. I am just saying that Chima said she made it up. I don't know what all
he said. I just know she said she made that part up. If it was true, then good on her for calling him on it. Jeff probably will go this week. I have a feeling that he will. It is just picking the lesser of evils here for me. I would like Michelle more if she weren't so iffy. Kevin is good. I like him a lot and wouldn't have any problem seeing him win. Lydia grossed me out they way she was about Jesse. I just don't like Jesse and seeing her and Natalie fight over him was gross to me.

I had no idea that J & J have said bigoted stuff.

If that's so, I guess I'll be rooting for Kevin or Michelle by default. Though Michelle also said something dumb - that Obama was elected over Hillary because America is sexist. Chima also said it.

Hi blue_onyx! :hi:

what happened with her. But yeah, a lot of them have said some nasty things. Racist, sexist, homophobic things. I just found myself rooting against anyone who alligned with Jesse. I didn't like him at all last year and that hasn't changed this year. Plus he is a whiny baby sore loser. I saw an interview with him after he was evicted. Ugh!

16. I didn't like Jesse either
I was annoyed to see people I like making an alliance with him. He was funny last year though. He would try to sound smart and use words he thought sounded impressive but actually made his speech incoherent. He was not as bad this season but I still don't like him.

17. I got tickled at the interviews I saw with him after his evection yesterday.
He was saying all this stuff that sounded kinda smart, but he used it all wrong. Bless his heart.

But he keeps blaming him being evicted on America. Last year, yeah it was America, but this year, he had 3 votes against him. Not really America's fault.

12. Hi mvd :)
I didn't know about the Hillary/Obama comments by Michele/Chima. I agree that sexism is more common than some people realize and it does effect Hillary and other female leaders. I, however, have to disagree with Michele and Chima about the reason for Hillary's loss...it wasn't sexism.

Kevin seems nice but he's boring. I would be ok with him winning. Michele annoys me but isn't completely unlikeable.

Yes, Jeff repeatedly called Russell a f****t which doesn't even make sense since Russel isn't gay. Jordon called Jesse "The f****t of America" (again....Jesse isn't gay). It's kind of depressing that America seems to like them so much.

13. I think America is clueless to that. They edit the mess out of that show.
It may not even matter though.

Kevin is kinda boring in general, but he cracks me up when he is in the diary room.

9. It seems to be a below average season
Nobody's all that old, except Casey, whose eviction was totally uncalled-for. I'd like to see a better mix of older and younger contestants.

I have Michele in a random draw pool of contestants, so I'm happy with her game so far. Of the contestants left, I dislike Chima and Natalie, and it appears that Kevin and Lydia may be drifting into alliance with them. Jeff and Jordan (the Cocker Spaniel Wonder Twins) represent the other side. Russell owes Jeff BIG time for Jeff's using the coup d'etat in his favor because he had one foot out the door and the other on a banana peel.

There seem to be a lot of drifters. Michele, Kevin and Lydia all seem to have played both sides and it's difficult to know where their loyalties might lie (I don't have the all-access stuff, so I only see what's broadcast). Michele's vote against Natalie last night kind of puts the kibosh on her "Girl Power" proposals, as far as I'm concerned. I don't think she's going to ally with Chima and Natalie.

This week, Michele could really put some pressure on Kevin by nominating him, and forcing him to cultivate a more open alliance. Along with him, I'd like to see her put up Natalie. I'm convinced that Natalie will crack under the pressure, because she hasn't handled the cushy ride she's had so far very well. I really liked Jeff's statement to Jesse and Natalie when he put them up last night about how neither one of them has been in danger at all so far. It's too bad they were on the block for only a few minutes. A whole week staring down the prospect of eviction? I think Natalie would turn into a raving banshee.

14. Yes, it's a below average season
Russell does owe Jeff. The target is now on Jeff and Russell will slip by for a few more weeks since Chima/Natalie will be after Jeff, not Russell.

I'm not sure it was a good decision for Jeff to use the power. Russell will turn on anyone, including Jeff. I'm not sure why Jeff would want to put his own safety on the line in order to save Russell. I think Michele will side with Jordan/Jeff and would have put Jesse/Natalie up this week anyway. It will be interesting to see how Natalie plays without Jesse to follow around.

But yeah, I am interested in seeing how Natalie plays without Jesse. I guess she will cling to Chima.

18. I don't think Jesse was a threat
He had nothing to do with being the first HOH. The second HOH he won required some luck. I remember he won in a tie breaker. Jeff's ball took a bad bounce which prevented him from winning. IMO, Jesse isn't a great player so I'm not sure why Jeff wanted him gone so badly.

19. I too think Jeff wanted to eliminate Jesse
Even Jesse acknowledged it was the smart move for Jeff to make. The Jesse/Natalie/Chima axis has dominated the game thus far, winning HOH practically every week, and having a "safe" HOH on the weeks they didn't (Ronnie). Russell may not be a dependable ally, but I think he's good for a week, which is realistically as long as anyone should expect loyalty at this stage of the game. I don't think Chima/Natalie will be in a position to be after anyone now that Jesse is gone. Chima might luck through another HOH competition, but I haven't been impressed with Natalie's competitive ability thus far.

I'm hoping there isn't a revolving door re-entry, but if there is, I think Casey would deserve it.

22. Casey was too bitter for me
He seemed to take things so seriously, even before he was nominated. I know Ronnie was playing both sides but that's the game. Casey seemed to think that lying in a game made Ronnie a bad person.

I don't think anyone is coming back. I remember Julie telling Braden that Ronnie was the one who flipped on him. They don't usually share this type of information if someone will be going back into the house.

I think Russell is good for more than "a week." People are after Jeff now and Russell, as long as he keeps his temper under control, will be able to float under the radar.

Chima found Russell's rosary and said something to this effect "He isn't even Catholic. He is an extremist Muslim terrorist" :wow: She might want to practice what she preaches. Sad that they let anger get the best of them like this. All of them, not just Chima.

I'm disappointed in Chima. Her recent comments and behavior are out of line. She really cracked under the pressure of the Big Brother house.

I'm really bummed that Jordan won HOH. I was hoping Kevin would win and evict Jeff. Now it looks like I'm stuck watching Jeff, Jordan, and Michele move further in the game.

30. I hope Chima gets help. Really. I am not saying that in an ugly manner either.
She went through such a horrific thing. I can't even begin to imagine. I know there is no way of getting over that. I don't think she was ready for something like Big Brother. I think she will regret this so much. I don't think she showed who she really is as a person. But that is what people will remember her as.

I will also say that I think Lydia needs help. She is "supposedly" a cutter and threatened cutting herself after something happening with Jesse. And tonight she did some crazy things after Jordan won HOH. That and her obsession with Jesse... I don't know, but I wonder how stable all of these people are that BB chose this year.
