I'm back from vacation. Did I miss anything

Had a wonderful time up in Albany. Visited the Giants training camp, met up with my friends/fellow fans from around the country (and Canada). Got to visit a couple of historical sites in the area including Fort Ticondaroga (sp?). I even went kayacking for the first time in my life, on lake George. That was grand fun except for when I passed close by what I thought was a turtle (I was about 30 or so yards from shore) and it turned out to be a snake.

For the football fans the Giants are looking very good. They have a deep team and a very impressive defense.

2. Yes I heard that. The Eagles must be desperate, what with all their bold talk

followed by a rash of injuries. Look like they are trying to take the ex-con crown from the Cowboys. I am just glad the Giants didn't sign him. It would have really tested my loyalty to the team.

3. Well, Jerry does believe in second chances, and you can see by last season

if they screw up they are gone. Also, after the last couple of seasons, I don't think Jerry was in any mood for another media circus. Except for Jerry Jones Memorial Stadium.

4. My question is what has Ron Mexico done to deserve this second chance

he lied about his crime, until he was found guilty. He clearly is saying all the same BS all the criminals and people caught doing bad things say from their PR firm's scripts. I just don't see why he should be allowed into the role model position again.

Not really. Very few people post now. They apparently still lurk, I think, judging by the "why aren't you popular" thread.

6. In time the Lounge will attract new people and those that left will be forgotten

There is an old saying about how much one is missed when they leave. Stick your hand in a bucket of water and pull it out. The whole that is left will be how much you are missed. Sure the water level goes down, but after a few rains even that will be corrected.

It is a political website, after all. Now that the general election is over, and Obama won, it seems a lot of the people on DU turned their frustration or leftover anger on each other. That is just IMHO of course.

8. There is no doubt that is a major factor

there were other problems as well. On the plus side the Lounge is far more friendly and relaxing than I ever remember it being. So like most things in life there are pluses and minuses.
