My Lamp made a buzzing noise and died -
and it's not the bulb. Can I repair it? The lamp is worth $200. Thx in advance.

2. Maybe for handy people it is...
Can you start from the beginning? Do I have to take that metal part off that the bulb used to sit in? Fuck I hate being stupid.

3. Probably just the socket itself.
Sockets can be easily bought and replaced. Just pop the old socket out, unattach the wires, reattach the wires to the new socket, and place the new socket where the old one used to be.

5. I think you're right
There's a burning smell coming from the socket. So just go to Home Depot or someplace and get another socket? Are they all the same?

9. For the most part, yes
Bring the dead socket along if you'd like to compare.
