To ANYONE who says Macs use the same processor as PCs, a history lesson:
Commodore 64
Atari 800
Apple ]
All three used the same Motorola 6502. Yet had their own operating systems, pros, cons, you name it.

I win!!

Nah-nyah-nee-nyaaaaaah-nah! :P

1. Macs still use the Motorola 6502. That's why there are only about 25 ...
...programs that they can use.

3. Yup, and those 25 work far better on the Mac than their Windows' bretheren...

:P

I don't need games. I need a computer. If people need games, get a Wii -- it uses far less electricity and won't feed Steve Ballmer's bloated and equally depraved ego either...

5. There's only 25 WIndows programs you can use, too
There is a vast difference between "programs you can get" and "programs you can use." 99.45 percent of all Windows programs are crap.

That's the real difference between Windows and Mac, I think: people who are cutting bad code are cutting it for Windows.

12. I currently run
vista at home, and Linux at work. The vast majority of the software both machines use is open source partly because I'm a cheap bastard and mostly because I can't see giving one more red cent to microsoft

18. I learned assembly on a 6502

Zero page addressing was a fantastic concept. There's a reason this processor found its way into the video game of its day.

9. It's a lot easier to build a "new" PC out of two wrecks than it is a "new" Ninja though.
And the PC doesn't leave a huge grease spot on the living room carpet.

17. Technically the C64 used a 6510.
The only real difference was memory locations 00 and 01 - on the 6510 they are used as hardware control registers. And the C64 floppy drive had its OWN 6502 and control OS.

Amiga, Mac and Atari ST all used 68xxx chips (again, different OS).
