Why do hard liquor commercials try to give the impression that their drinkers are classy people?
I just saw one about people going to Paris. And, another one that about a guy that is so smooth he talks his way backstage at concerts. It's all crap.

99% of the hard liquor drinkers I know just drink it because they like getting drunk. You don't have to be classy to be into that. Frankly, I don't think it even helps.

1. You must not know very many hard liquor drinkers
You could probably say the exact same thing about beer drinkers and many might believe it simply because of the stigma placed on just about all forms of alcohol in the US. I suppose some believe drinking wine affords them some measure of class, but the majority of bums list fortified wine as their drink of choice. That's why you'll find liquor stores on in the bad areas of town in many parts of the US and wine stores in more upscale neighborhoods. That's what's really a bunch of crap. I have to drive 20 miles away from my home to buy cordials or spirits, but any mouth breather can buy cheap beer right around the corner.

However, in most parts of Europe you'll find spirits sold in the local markets and all throughout the cities and countryside, but there's not as many people with a bug up their ass over alcohol.

2. Umm because commercials intentionally don't depict reality
If they did, fewer people would buy their products.

3. What!? You mean most Viagra users aren't...
... healthy men with full heads of hair in their mid-50's? Or, that it takes more than the simple purchase of KY products to get your wife in the mood?

4. My dear LostInAnomie...
Because by showing those drinkers as classy, means that anyone who drinks the stuff is likewise classy...

You identify with the product and that makes you want to buy it!

:hi:

I love how he just avoids saying it tastes like fruit soaked in kerosene.

16. Because most of the people that do drink hard liquor are slightly classier than your "Bud Light"-
crowd.

If you don't believe walk into a bar and look for yourself sometime.
