Is it really that difficult to boil eggs? Who buys this crap?

1. I got an egg cooker in 1963 for a wedding present.
I still use it today. I have no idea how to boil an egg.

4. I recently saw frozen pancakes, frozen bacon and egg sandwiches
and frozen cooked rice.

It's really not that hard to learn simple cooking, and it's actually fun, but I doubt I'll be converting any non-cooks.

5. Well, it can be tricky
The first few times you try it, you're bound to destroy the egg in the water. As for this thing, I tend to agree with Alton Brown - if it only performs one function, chances are you can find something else (say, a pot and some water) that can do the same thing.

7. You should realize that boiling eggs and poaching them ...
... are two different things. That said, you don't need a specialized appliance for either.
