10. yeah, the trading down moves didn't help |
|
as soon as we get anywhere near .500, they trade folks away and down, down we go. On the bright side, we did just win 4-5 games in a row.
We actually have tix to see them play the Phillies tomorrow night. :scared:

My son is close to refusing to go, and he was so excited to see them play the last few years.
We went tonight and it was a good pitchers duel, but we just couldn't get the hits...

40. But I still love them |
|
I just get soooo angry at the owners I start spitting and spouting gibberish. We're practically a farm team for the rest of MLB. Ticks me off to no end. Every year we get told the same thing when we trade away the few really good players we have "It's to get good young prospects". Yeah, we get a couple good young prospects, keeps them a couple years to give them seasoning and experience, then trade them away once they start to really show good potential. :banghead:

42. yes, I agree completely |

I briefly toyed with the idea of becoming (gasp) a Red Sox fan a few weeks ago, since i still miss Jason Bay. I look around the league to see how our former players are doing, since I'm still emotionally attached to them...

They lead the league in lowest run differential (something like -150).
At least I have the Cardinals to root for.

21. Nats were only second worst for a while, but the Orioles have pulled ahead |
|
in the race for the second-worst. Nats are playing .357 ball, and are 28.5 games out of first place. O's are playing .405 ball, and are 27.5 games out
FWIW, one other team is playing at less than .400 - KC Royals are at .384, 19 games out of first.
So there is also a race to have an average above .400.
Things like this are what makes baseball so interesting.
The Nats really kicked the shit out of the Cubs yesterday - maybe this is their late season rally!!

39. The players aren't as bad as they have been playing - I frequently stated here |
|
their coaching staff and management is terrible. These guys don't seem to give a shit if they win or not, so it's mainly not.
They seem to be happy if they win a couple of games a week.
