In honor of the weather: my poem "Heat"

High summer
Shimmering grass
The air, completely still

I am breathless
My skin shrivels
The dusty path
Holds my footprints

Puffs of dirt
Arise
From my footfalls
They hang above the breathless
Path

The sun freezes all motion
No idea of it
No possibility

I no longer remember
What it’s like to be
Cold

That memory fades
Driven from my mind
By this heat.

The day holds its breath
Waiting
For surcease

For coolness

type of temperature, I prefer the heat to cold. I HATE being cold, and I do not start getting hot till it goes over 90...
