Anyone read "Blood Meridian" by Cormac McCarthy?
I just started reading it earlier in the week. It's pretty good. McCarthy's writing style is a little hard to follow though.

1. I did read The Road by him.
His style takes a bit getting used to, but once you get into the beat of it, you will enjoy his style.

2. I've been trying to decide if I want to read "The Road".
I've read rave reviews for it, but then again it was selected for Oprah's book club. So, I have to take anything I read about it with a grain of salt.

3. I picked the book because I'm on a sci-fi end of the world , aliens invade earth kick these days...
and it popped up on my Amazon choice list from another book I picked.

It's not a light romp. Frankly, it's down right depressing at times, but some of his imagery is brilliant.

It's a tough read psychologically speaking, but it's also a quick read.

I really liked it.

5. I read it before Oprah did, so take it from me: it's excellent

4. Magnificent book. Very probably my all-time favorite.
In the Ficton forum I recently mentioned that I'd given my copy of the book to my father, who also really likes it.

It has a few (ultimately minor) blips IMO, but cover-to-cover it's the most satisfying novel I've ever read.
