True Blood fans check in please!! Great season finale ** spoilers **
I like how TB ends their seasons, the neatly wrap up all the storylines for the year. Other TV shows leave the big 'cliffhangers' of who lives or dies type mentality and then we have to wait a year to find out how the story we spent weeks following finally ends.

Instead TB neatly wraps up all their storylines for the year but just when you think the calm is back in our favorite town of Bon Temps, havoc wrecks again.

I wish there was more storyline with Eric yesterday but I have a feeling he will be much more prominant next year since I'm guessing he had something to do with Bill's kidnapping. I was also sad that Eggs won't be with us next year although he did set off a new storyline with Andy & Jason. I like how those 2 are suddenly best buds and are always good for a laugh in the show.

But Maryann (we hope) is gone forever but now we know what next year will entail:

* Who kidnapped Bill and will Eric make his move
* Who killed Eggs (well we know but not anyone else) and I'm sure Tara will be a force to wrecken with losing her first really true love.
* We'll learn more about Sam and where he came from - I thought that was a nice direction to a new storyline.
* And Jessica looks pissed. It seems Hoyt didn't get there fast enough to ask for forgiveness. I really like those 2 together and I'm glad Hoyt finally got a set of balls and stood up to his mother.

1. I have to watch it again...
...I couldn't make out all the dialogue. But I liked seeing the Vampire Queen displaying her fangs last night.

My ex made a remark at the beginning of the Jessica/Hoyt section: "Jessica's out having dinner"

I was a bit surprised that Sookie caved to Eggs wanting to know what he did, I thought she was just gonna tell him he stabbed a ritual animal or something. Guess his contract was up...

2. I think Sookie allowed him to see the images
She was able to get him to open his mind during his black-out periods and he saw what he had done. I doubt that Sookie would have told him herself.

3. It left me a bit disappointed. I would have liked to have seen more of Eric.
I am glad the Maryanne storyline is over. I thought that could have been ended a couple of weeks ago. I thought the Fellowship story was a more powerful story line.

I do not think Eric took Bill. I think it would be too obvious. I am leaning towards Lorena.

Also - did it bother anyone else that Bill proposed the day after Maryanne's death? How about giving the poor girl some breathing space? It seemed to me like he was trying to solidify his position with Sookie due to his insecurities about Eric's potential influence over her. Sam had also mentioned to Bill, the previous night, that it is better to be come clean about one's secrets than to keep them hidden. This made me think that Bill wanted to tie Sookie to him even tighter before he revealed some big dark secret to her. Maybe I am thinking about this way too much!

Just my thoughts. I guess I can get on with the rest of my life now, at least for the next 9 months.

5. Well from what I read the series is starting to move away from the books next year
but still, season #3 books did have Bill disappearing but on his own free will. And I think somehow this does put Eric in a position where he can claim Sookie for her own. I mean both Bill and Eric have their book in Sookie, but Eric is a much more powerful vamp - if Bill is out of the way Sookie could find herself drawn towards Eric. I'd think they would like Lorena to be blamed for Bill's disappearance but you have to imagine that Sophie and Eric have their hands in this mess. Lorena was only banished from Dallas region - she could have her hands in the disappearance.

BTW, I swore some of the werewolves that came into book #3 were truck drivers. What-if Jessica messed around with a werewolf? That could bring a great storyline next year with the introduction of werewolves.

6. Had to watch it again ---
before commenting. :)

This was a really tough season -- they had this massive maenad plot that seemed to be dragging on a bit, then the shorter but much more interesting Dallas plot involving the amazing Godric. I don't think the rest of the season ever fully recovered from that last, completely amazing "meet the sun" episode.

With that said, I still enjoyed the ending and the various season 3 plot possibilities it brings forth.

Sam was just terrific - that takes some balls to be willing to go through that experience -- even knowing there is a vamp right there waiting to step in and save you. He was living up to his go-to shift of the loyal/willing to risk his life for his people dog. I think Trammel is a great actor and am very interested to see where Sam's storylone goes now that he is in search of his parentage.

It was tough seeing Layfayette going full-on saucer eyes, but having him as a bride's maid would be awesome.

Tara's declaration that it wasn't over was ominous -- there was a whole lot of unprotected sex going on between her and Eggs -- are we looking at a potential pregnancy?? Also, will Tara ever find out it was really her longtime crush Jason who killed her first serious honey??

I really hope that Ball has the courage to go where the books go with Bill. I think it would make for a much more einteresting storyline for Sookie/Bill. Dunno who/what is behind Bill's kidnapping -- I think Eris is too obvious a choice, especiallyl since they made a big deal out of Eric taking "care of" Bill earlier in the episode.

Poor Jessica -- she really does have the worst maker ever. :( To see what a fully developed Maker/Vamp relationship can look like with Godric/Eric and compare it to the barely there relationship of Bill/Jessica -- he is nothing more than an absent daddy in the areas it counts. It will be interesting to see if she succumbs to the lure of the serial vamp sucker/killer life or if Hoyt's influence will be enough to keep her on the straight and narrow.

I think the scene with Maryanne and the Bull/Sam was great -- everything about it was fantastic -- the lighting, her various revelations about what was happening, including that it was not her God Hubby "ravashing" her but Sam, that is was Sam who got to take her out -- it was all good for me.

I am still not impressed with Woods as the Queen -- she says the lines, makes the gestures -- but I am still not getting any real presence with her. Maybe things will change for me next season.

It's gonna be a l-o-n-g fall/winter!

7. Seaon three spoilers!
Taken from several interviews with Ball:

I'm always prepared to be shocked and awed every episode, and I am. Can you tell us anything about season three?

Well, the book is out there, so I'm not giving anything away when I say that we'll meet the Vampire King of Mississippi, Russell Edgington. And we'll encounter werewolves for the first time in the flesh; we've heard about them, but we'll meet them. I'm very excited about the character of Debbie Pelt. She's bad news.

Since I haven't read the books, who is that?

Debbie Pelt is the ex-girlfriend of a guy who's helping Sookie try to find Bill, and she is just hard ass, white trash bitch on wheels. She's so much fun. But there are other great characters, too. Everybody is struggling with identity in season three – What am I? Who am I? What is my life? Is it what I want it to be? How do I make it what I want it to be? What are my real values? And some people are like, "Am I human? I always thought I was, but maybe I was wrong." In one particular case, its like, "Yes, honey, you were wrong."

Ok. And Godric, is he really dead?

He is really dead.

That was such a tender scene at the end of "I Will Rise Up" between Godric and Eric and Sookie.

Yes, I loved that scene. However, Godric and Eric have a thousand years of flashback territory to be mined.
