Vendooza, featuring DUer XNASA, makes Chicago debut (pics)

Can't say enough about XNASA's new band, which made its musical debut last night at Chicago's Beat Kitchen. They totally ROCKED!!!

The set was so tight as they moved through their repertoire of original songs. The grooves had a familiar feel to them, but they were presented with a certain freshness. The lyrics were interesting and catchy, some even dealing with topical themes.

Vendooza put the other two bands showcased that night to shame. Being all seasoned performers, their playing was effortless and they owned the stage. XNASA (striped shirt on left) may be understated as a performer, but the talent he displayed spoke volumes.

16. XNASA makes me do bad things...

Sometimes he tells me the neighborhood is "dirty" and I have to "cleanse" it.

One of the neighbor's dogs keeps telling me the same thing. Maybe they're right.

on edit: Of course the neighbor's other dog just keeps saying "Throw the ball, throw the ball, throw the ball!" So I probably shouldn't take them too seriously.

But XNASA...he might know something.

Thanks Sharon. It was wonderful that you came out last night. You know, you spend so much time in the city nowadays....you should probably consider moving downtown. You're far too cosmopolitan for suburban life.

Also a big thanks to mkuhl and Susang for attending. You know, I see those two together an awful lot. I think they might have something going on between them. Hehe.

17. I have the best of both worlds now

Don't know if I could give up my veggie and flower gardens, but I wouldn't rule it out. The drive is really quite painless if you avoid rush hour traffic.

I have it on good authority that they do indeed have a thing going on. ;-)

Believe me, you don't need to jump around more to shine. I think your lead singer jumped around and was shiny enough for both of you. ;-)

10. Few things will get me to leave the house on St. Patty's day in Chicago...

Fear of bar dilettantes, fake Irish accents and flashing green jewelry announcing "Kiss Me, I'm A Nitwit" usually keeps me at home under a table with a flashlight and a battery operated radio.

But damn was this worth it. I had a great time.

They might even be able to coax me out of my lair on New Years Eve...
