I forgot to stamp my son's birthday invitations! Help!
I dropped 24 letters into the mailbox this afternoon...and I just realized this evening that they were unstamped. Sleep deprivation is doing me no favors. My son's b-day party is the 2nd one in his kindergarten class, we will not look good if they got delivered with a bill for postage.

I am not sure when the box is emptied - maybe 1pm, maybe 5pm. What do I do?!? My only plan at the moment is to frantically call the post office nearest the box at 8AM tomorrow.

it's hard to get the local post office to pick up the phone, in my experience. You could call the parents and tell them your boo boo.

Oh, and I think the mail will come back to YOU.

2. 24 calls? blah
If the mail came back to me that would be fine...I can re-do envelopes. And use stamps the next time 'round.

3. My dear midnight armadillo...
I think the post office will return them to you.

They will not deliver unstamped mail...

Good luck!

:hi:

4. Call the post office! A couple months ago, I went to the post
office on a Saturday afternoon to mail in my bone marrow donor test kit. On the way, I stopped at Walgreens and picked up the pictures my dad had gotten developed. When I got home, the bone marrow envelope was on the seat of the car and the pictures were gone - I'd put them in the mailbox! The post office was closed, but I left a message on their answering machine. On Sunday, a woman called me and asked me which box I'd put them in and told me I could come to the Post Office and pick them up Monday morning, which I did. Call, it sure can't hurt!

5. I'm small town, and the postmaster and those working for him LURVE me so....
Making the call and getting it dealt with (if it were remotely possible) would be a GO for me. Call the PO, talk to them about that specific box, and ask them what can be done - and that you will really appreciate anything that can or would be willing to do to help you. Can't hurt to ask!

6. They'll be returned to your address postage due.
Not that I've ever done something like that, mind you...x(
