Long haired hippie-types! A question?

I am very proud of myself that I didn't cut my hair this summer. I usually freak and chop it all off. :)

My question.. wtf?!? How long until It'll stay tight with 1-2 rubberbands? Today was my first day "out there" with it properly put up and it lasted about 2 hours before I got all awry

I don't wanna cut it off this late in the game.

My title is off, I fear.

Until I could wear it in a proper pony-tail. The rest of the time I wore a hat of some kind.

It pretty much stays that way unless it's windy. I've been growing mine for about a year. Started from a buzz cut.

I can wear a pony tail now but my bangs are quite long enough to stay in the pony tail so sometimes it looks like I got a mullet.
