My water bed sprung a leak today.
..with the help of a certain small sharp-clawed beastie.

I don't really mind that much- fortunately I have a water bed pump so I was able to drain it without it becoming messy, and I'm sure I can track down a new mattress easily enough. Although I do have repair patches I don't want to try it this time 'cause the leak is exactly in the corner of the mattress. I can see it bustin' loose every month or so from now on if I try to fix it.

Another good thing is- I'm moving in a bit over two weeks, so if I can handle sleeping in my recliner for a while I can make use of the bed's space if I go ahead and tear it down. Space for packing boxes, etc...

1. Waterbed + cat = flood.

2. Whoa... Those still exist?
how terribly.... retro. Do you have inflatable furniture too?

I keed. Though, if you intend to retain the Kitty habit, you might consider a new form of bedding that has less need to remain pinhole free to retain its integrity and not really tick off anyone living below you...

3. I got a mattress-type cover for mine.
It covers the whole water bed and is zippered so you can take the top off and throw it in the wash. With 3 cats, I've had no punctures at all in almost 10 years. :)

4. As the owner/captain of the bed you realize that you
must go down with the bed!

Your sacrifice will be forgotten.
