one of my best friend's sisters is in the icu |
|
the sister works a low-wage job and has no health insurance, so she walked around sick - really sick - for five days before my friend drug her to the er. it turned out to be pneumonia and they admitted her early yesterday morning. this morning, they moved her to icu because she's getting worse.
i'm worried about the sister for obvious reasons, but i'm also worried about my friend.
nope, we don't need health care reform at all.

1. I'm sorry to hear it, fizzgig. |

I'll keep her in my thoughts.
I wonder what the opposition say when encountered with tales like this. "Oh, people who work can buy their own"?

i've been told that people need to be responsible enough to buy their own insurance. i had to take my husband to urgent care a few months ago and the doctor(!) asked us why we don't just buy our own insurance. i told her it's because i'm working for minimum wage and he's keeping us afloat.
