Just looked outside; my backyard is FULL of dragonflies! |
|
It is a beautiful, sunny day here - there are birds, dozens of dragonflies, and the lake sparkling in the background. With the leaves just starting to change... very picturesque.
But I've never, ever seen this many dragonflies at once.
What does it mean? :hi:

they were beautiful, with their wings glittering in the sunlight. Seems they've left now...

9. Some species are migratory... |
|
Your yard may be a stopover. Or, since you are on a lake, this could be where they overwinter. OTOH, their juvenile stages are aquatic. This could just be the latest generation in your lake, and the population is in the middle of a boom. Either way, it's pretty cool!
