does anybody know about adoption law in Texas |
|
in Texas in the early 1980's....
long story short. My step brother says that MY DAD's name is on his birth certificate. My step brother was born in the spring of 1979. My step mother and my Dad were married in Texas about 1981.
My Dad wasn't even in the same city as his mom when he was conceived...so... it's a long story as to why he doesn't know who his dad is ( my former step mother is a nice lady - just always had lots of issues)
I know my dad is NOT his Dad, so why is MY dad's name on his birth certificate in Washington State???
I always thought Dad adopted him....does that mean Dad gets listed as the father now?
My brother just contacted me, trying to figure stuff out....now I'm the one that is confused!!!!

1. not sure as to the law then |
|
but you can get a new birth certificate issued showing the adoptive parents as the parents of the child. That's probably what happened.
