Have to share a response to my LTTE in our local rag.

It is absolutely like it came directly from a SNL skit! I had written a couple weeks back about all the ne're do wells coming out of SC, such as, Wilson, Sanford, etc. This is a response printed in today's paper:

In her letter of (Sept. 23, "Back true values, not fake Republican ones), Ann Benton insinuates that Republicans do not represent true values and brought up the unfortunate lapse of Mark Sanford, among other things.

Allow me to remind Ms. Benton of a Republican who truly represents the high standards of the GOP. During a public hearing on Sept. 9, California Assemblyman Michael Duvall, 54, a married family man, conservative Republican, and "pro-family values" proponent, was overheard informing a Republican colleague (while not realizing that his microphone was on) about spanking a younger female lobbyist while telling her that she was a "bad girl."

Obviously, Duvall felt compelled to reprimand her incorrect behavior while applying a firm hand to get to the bottom of things. Being an older and much wiser individual concerned with the moral well-being of the younger generation, he reached out to this young woman clearly in need of guidance.

Much of the outcry was naturally voiced by liberals who oppose corporal punishment. The martyred Duvall has since resigned his position.

Ms. Benton needs to appreciate and acknowledge Republicans such as Duvall, who truly reflect the high moral standards of the "Grand Old Party."
