I went to the dentist about my shattered molar
Basically I needed a big filling.

No root canal, no $2000 bill. :D

3. I have one and it's my favorite molar.
It was sensitive for a few months but now it feels like the strongest tooth in my mouth.

4. Without a crown
you're not a real princess.
:P

Good that you can put off the crown. It's not only $$$ but a time sink because it's at least two visits, the first one pretty lengthy.

6. Good luck keeping that filling.
If it's a good chunk of the tooth that's missing or it's on a corner, it won't last long probably. I had the same issue with one of mine and it wouldn't stay in place long.

7. Right now I'm just happy I could get it fixed so fast
And like I said upthread, it will probably need a crown.

8. Yay!
I had an issue similar to yours - they put a big porcelain filling on it and it is still going strong!

I made a decision to get 2 metal fillings replaced before the end of the year to maximize benefits. The Dentist's office has a special promotion where they match whatever the insurance company pays - after that, I am getting Zoom whitening and bonding on a front tooth to correct the shape a little bit.

10. oh, good. Sorry about your shattered molar, though

Teeth problems are expensive and painful.

Hope you heal up well with as small a bill as possible.

14. Glad to hear it. Keeping one's teeth, especially when you're past the first flush of youth,
is so damned expensive.

(PS If you're not past the first flush of youth, disregard this.) :-)
